Always nice to have a lid to close off the works. Looks more benign that way. This is a plastic toilet seat from Ikea. Plastic keeps the unit lightweight. Otherwise I would have gone with a wooden one. At $6.99 (on sale today for 4.99) this one cost less than any other toilet seat including the emergency kind that fit over a 5 gallon bucket. I did remove the plastic washers that came with the bolts. It is a friction fit, but doesn’t work with wood.
